A few ‘cheeky white lies’ said while setting up your insurance policy is costing us all dearly, according to the latest stats on motor insurance fraud.
While those doing it may think that being ‘economical with the truth’ will actually save them a few pounds the practice is actually adding an estimated £30 to EVERY policy.
And worse still; those committing insurance fraud are finding themselves not covered when they do need to claim!
Fraudulent behaviour has increased by as much as a third in recent months as the recession bites and people try everything to reduce their outgoings.
Amongst the current list of favourite motor insurance ‘white lies’ include misleading insurers on vehicle modifications, named drivers and false addresses for where the car or bike is being kept. All of which can invalidate policies.
RescueMyCar.com has joined some of the biggest and most respected insurers in condemning the recent surge in motor insurance fraud and has promised to do all it can to protect its honest customers.
