Car Breakdown Puts Women at Risk

by NCI 8. July 2009 11:26

A Woman's relative 'lack of knowledge about car mechanics' is putting her at risk when faced with a car breakdown according to a new survey.

The belief that fewer women know how to maintain and fix basic car breakdown issues than men has been backed up by a recent poll, which found a big discrepancy between what men and women are capable of fixing.

In the survey 44% of women admitted to not being able to check their vehicle’s oil levels, compared to 21% of men, while a massive 71% of female respondents freely admitted not having a clue about how to check brake fluid levels.

The fact that lots of people do not know either how to prevent a car breakdown or simply wouldn’t know how to fix the simplest thing such as a flat tyre or low oil levels makes that breakdown insurance all the more important to ensure the driver and passengers are not stranded.

And while you may think of such insurance as a simple commodity many of the customers here are Rescue My Car actually now see it as a failsafe policy that gives you access to your own car mechanic service.

‘And with finding like this (survey) it makes absolute sense to protect you from such potentially concerning issues, added Rescue My Car’s spokesman.
