The Worst Brands for Car Breakdown

by NCI 30. July 2009 16:25

Land Rover, Renault and Saab are three of the worst brands for car breakdown issues according to an annual survey of used 50,000 cars.

The yearly survey carried out by one of Britain’s biggest warranty companies has found Japanese car brands to be the most reliable yet again, with Honda coming top in the reliability stakes as the car least likely to breakdown.

Honda is closely followed by Mazda, Toyota, Nissan and Mitsubishi at the very top of the reliability index.

Has a breakdown index of 10.59 per cent while Land Rover came bottom with a car breakdown rate of 46.74 per cent.

In terms of the costs of those car breakdown issues Skoda came out with an average repair bill of £215, compared to a whopping £709 bill for a Porsche with the same issue.

The findings highlight how expensive car breakdown can be and once again point to the potential savings good car breakdown cover can give you, especially if you own one of the car brands named towards the bottom of the reliability list.
