2. Look after your battery

Make simple checks when leaving your car each time to ensure you have not left on any energy sapping things on like lights (headlights, tail lights, fog lights), car stereos and appliances connected to the 12V cigarette lighter.

Your car manual should have information on how to check whether your battery is in perfect condition so make sure you read that page if you ignore all others!

3. Unexpected tyre wear

Grazing the tyres against the curb when parking can damage the sidewalls of the tyres. These can then turn into a tyre failure on a cause you more problems. Always check, abrasions and cuts and make sure that the tread is not less than the statutory 1.6 mm.

Make sure that your tires are properly inflated to the proper pressure for a smooth ride also to avoid breakdown issues and also to help conserve fuel as a car is much less efficient when operating on flat tyres.
