If you have often wondered how you would get a lift home or how you would be rescued if a car breakdown happened to you then you are not alone. At some point or another we have all either been in this sticky situation or have thought about we would get home again in one piece.

The truth is that a massive 67% of those drivers without car breakdown cover would have to rely on the kindness of a relative to save them – and a costly privately organised rescue truck!

Worryingly more than half of those people would actually get out of their car while on a motorway and try and fix the car following a breakdown, despite the inherent risks in doing so.

And of course calling a loved one to your rescue can also put them in the same danger as they attempt pick you up as injuries caused by such acts of kindness have leapt by a fifth in a year as more and more people cut back on car breakdown cover.

Perhaps most concerning of all is the fact that a third of all motorists that breakdown say they would stay in their car to await rescue. This comes despite the fact that numerous warnings have been issued publicising the dangers of doing so.

Rescue My Car’s in house experts have been busy educating customers on these facts for years and they have been busy rebooking many breakdown cover policies as motorists once again realise the value that cover can bring.
