Gales and record rainfall across the UK is this week putting greater and greater emphasis on the need for good breakdown cover as scores of motorists fall foul of the storms.
At a time when some are attempting to cut back on cover the expert advice from forecasters is to stock up to avoid heartache this winter with more of the same expected throughout the colder months of 2009 and 2010.
Vehicle damage as a result of the cold or stormy weather is becoming much more likely now and the last thing you want is to be stuck in your car as the weather deteriorates around you, according to environment chiefs.
A spokesman for the Environment Agency told Rescue My Car: ‘The weather we are seeing now may well continue as we start to see the affects of climate change and our message to motorists is to avoid areas with any weather warnings and to ensure that they are covered if something should go wrong.’
And the concern is that with more people than ever opting to run their car without breakdown cover a record number of people may have to be saved from their breakdown by emergency services; forcing them away from dealing with potentially more serious issues of flooding, the likes of which we have just seen in Cumbria.
The equivalent of three million drivers are prepared to go without breakdown cover in order to reduce their motoring costs and this year that could put extra pressure on the already stretched emergency services.
To avoid such a situation contact Rescue My Car now to arrange for cheap breakdown cover for your car this winter. You may be surprised at how little it costs.
