Breakdown Cover Case Studies

Rescue My Car is inundated with breakdown cover calls in the lead up to Christmas and during the winter as breakdown incidents soar because of the cold weather. Occasionally a few stories come up that prove useful as an examples of the reality of not having breakdown cover and a couple of the most recent we share with you below...

Breakdown Cover Case Study One

Zach Taylor thanked his lucky stars for having one of our breakdown cover policies last week when his battery died during the Christmas cold snap.

His Ford Focus would not start when he attempted to take his dog to the local kennels in preparation for their Christmas holiday.

He explained: ‘I had not moved the car for a few days as I had worked from home and had stayed in all weekend to avoid the snow chaos and Christmas shoppers. Then, when I did need to move the car wouldn’t start.’

Luckily Zach had been a long standing customer with Rescue My Car and had breakdown cover in place. That meant we had a breakdown team to him within 20 minutes and the car repaired on the spot.

“Breakdown cover is definitely worth having,” says Zach, who pays around £40 for a year’s comprehensive cover.

“It gives you the peace of mind that help is at hand if you need it.’

Breakdown Cover Case Study Two

Not so lucky was 39 year old teacher Vivian Richards, who had broken down during the recent snow storms that ripped across the UK.

‘I was stuck on a B road for almost two hours until my husband was able to get to me and tow me home. If it wasn’t for him I don’t know what I would have done.

‘One thing is for sure, I have asked for breakdown cover as the number one present on my Christmas list this year!.’
