Latest figures have revealed that over £100 million has been lost by motorists in the last year who decided to risk not taking out the correct UK breakdown cover, and were consequently stranded having lost the gamble.
The figures, which have been provided by the AA, revealed that over the course of the last year approximately 2 million people were left stranded at the roadside without the correct breakdown cover. The irony of course being that the price of being rescued from their position was anything up to four times the price of basic cheap breakdown cover.
In the recession, it’s been common for most Britains to try and save as many pennies as possible, and this has been equally true in the world of motoring. However, in light of these new figures, the AA has highlighted how important obtaining the correct cover still is, as even cheap breakdown cover can save the customers hundreds in unforeseen costs.
The costs to customer stranded at the roadside and having to call a garage to come and collect their vehicle costs anything in excess of £100 for a simply roadside repair: even more if the vehicle had to be recovered.
