Latest figures have revealed that many consumers still remain unsure about what their UK breakdown cover policies actually contain, and therefore end up costing themselves more money.

The latest figures, which have been revealed by the research company DeFaqto, show that the UK’s consumers need to spend more time ensuring that they purchase UK breakdown cover that sufficiently protects them against all eventualities.

One of the main issues that consumers are often unaware of is the rules regarding re-fuelling or mis-fuelling, with many companies not including the customer entering the wrong fuel into their car as being covered under certain policies.

Speaking on behalf of Defaqto, Mike Powell argued noted that putting the incorrect fuel into their car could lead consumers to receiving not only a ‘huge repair bill’, but one that wouldn’t be covered.

This revelation from Defaqto should hopefully lead to UK consumers becoming more aware of UK breakdown cover, and taking the time to ensure that they are completely covered in the event of a breakdown by avoiding lesser breakdown companies.
