Chivalry Still Exists In The UK Motoring World!

Latest research has revealed that in the world of UK motoring, chivalry is still far from dead!

The latest survey, which looked at current attitudes in the world of motoring, was carried out by Kwik Fit insurance, and revealed that more than two thirds of people would happily stop and help out a female driver who had broken down, but that less than half would offer the same support for a male driver in the same situation.

Interestingly enough, the primary reason for not wanting to stop for marooned men was due to a concern about personal safety.  More reasonably, the second main reason for refusing to stop was simply that 24% of people stating that they wouldn’t stop simply because they wouldn’t know how to solve the problem and would prefer to leave it to UK breakdown cover teams.

Worryingly, despite the lack of knowledge of car maintenance and the grim rescue prospects, more than one in five people admitted that they currently had no UK breakdown cover at all, meaning that they could end up in a very vulnerable position in the event of a breakdown.  An extra-ordinary 24% of those surveyed admitted they didn’t even know how to change a tyre.

Speaking on behalf of the insurance company, Brendan Devine stated that ‘Although there are willing helpers still ready to help vulnerable drivers in times of need, prevention of incidents should be the number one concern.’
