With the recession still affecting many areas of the UK, it is no surprise to reveal that many drivers have stated that they will be making cut-backs to their insurance and breakdown cover UK policies in an attempt to save money.
The insurer Your Cover, responsible for the research that has revealed these statistics, has warned that shopping around for the lowest prices means that motorists will in fact be able to save money whilst still keeping the same levels of protection.
Speaking on behalf of Your Cover, Head of Marketing Andy James noted that the company ‘would advise motorists to think carefully about the kind of car insurance policy they want and to avoid involving themselves with a ‘scorpion’ insurer, where there could be a sting in the tail.’
The main concern for those that choose to shop around for their breakdown cover UK policies is that they could end up facing additional charges in what could be seemingly cheaper cover, such as mid-term adjustments, cancellation fees and direct debit payments.
Mr James continued to observe that more than half of the customers that had chosen to shop around online had led to them easily finding cheaper insurance. With courtesy cars and legal protection being two of the main aspects that customers were prepared to overlook in order to save money, it is likely that cheaper policies will end up being more and more popular over the course of the next few months.
