The latest research from the world of UK motoring has led to the revelation that more and more drivers are choosing to take advantage of more fuel-efficient cars – perhaps unsurprising given the current constant increase in the price of petrol.
Swinton – the company responsible for the telling research – revealed that 57% of those motorists who were surveyed stated that the most important factor in choosing a car in the modern environment was the cost of fuel as opposed to any other consideration.
Along with the decrease in the amount of fuel that drivers taking advantage of fuel efficient cars have to pay, there are also other notable benefits. Cars that are more economical when it comes to fuel will often offer reduced emissions and consequently benefit from road taxes either being reduced or removed altogether. With the reduced road tax yet another saving in addition to the fuel, it’s hardly surprising that more and more drivers are turning towards the vehicles.
In addition to the survey itself, Swinton also unveiled a list of what they believe to be the most economical cars currently available in the UK market. Some available in the list include the Smart Fortwo and the Skoda Fabio.
