Whilst breakdown cover UK wide is important and used by many different UK drivers for a variety of different reasons, the latest revelations about the unusual way in which the cover is used will likely put a wry smile on the face of motorists.
Confused.com – a comparison sight for the breakdown cover UK market – has revealed that 56% of drivers in the UK have at some point completely forgotten where they parked their car, with a remarkable 3% having admitted that they subsequently telephoned their breakdown service in order to help them locate it.
This isn’t the only driving gaffe that UK motorists have made, however, which 25% of drivers having managed to lock their keys in the car, with 10% of them again calling their breakdown cover UK service to try and help the situation out.
Another classic mistake is those who put the wrong type of fuel into their car, 5% of whom once again put the call through to their breakdown cover company in order to try and rectify the situation.
Speaking on behalf of the situation, Head of Car Insurance at Confused, Gareth Kloet commented that ‘This survey just goes to show how much people use and appreciate their breakdown cover, especially when they get themselves in a potentially embarrassing situation.’
