A recent Top Gear episode featured Jeremy Clarkson outlining the characteristics of the new Nissan Leaf. Whilst travelling around Lincoln, the programme featured Clarkson struggling to find somewhere to recharge the electric car. The episode saw Clarkson going into a restaurant and, rather amusingly, asking for somewhere to plug in his car. Clarkson and fellow presenter of the popular BBC show, James May, eventually found somewhere to plug in their electric vehicles at the city’s university.

Nissan has recently decided to fund the installation of Lincoln’s first charging point for an electric vehicle. This charging ‘PodPoint’ will be free of charge to all electric vehicle owners.
