Sunday saw a somewhat catastrophic Indy Race when officials declared a race restart even though the track was deemed as “too wet” by virtually every driver. Subsequently, Danica Patrick’s car spun out of control almost after the 217th lap was announced safe, which then sparked an accident involving multiple racing cars.
Will Power was taken out by the accident involving several racing cars, leaving his fifth position just a distant memory. Power staged his fury to director of the IndyCar race, Brian Barnhart; the outburst was streamed straight onto the Internet in addition to ABC television who also caught the aftermath. Power later apologised for his actions but later explained that he wasn’t furious about being taken out of the race but he was actually stunned at the decision to restart in such dangerous conditions.
Meanwhile, Ryan Hunter-Reay celebrated his win for the MoveThatBlock.com 225 for Andretti Autosport.
