Despite posing as a threat to UK motorists, it appears that potholes are going to be sticking around a little longer. The majority of UK councils have revealed that there has been a slash in road maintenance budgets, which has “reduced the ability of the county council to continue with the on-going improvement in roads condition” said a spokesperson for one council.
Although councils' previously admitted to prioritising short-term road fixes, they’re now looking into how to overcome long-term road problems that are beginning to seriously affect motorists.
Looking at the number of motorists affected by road potholes, let’s hope that the government understands and can fully come to terms with the consequences of the road budget cuts.
