Toyota is to create as many as 1,500 jobs at the Burnaston, Derbyshire plant thanks to the development of an all-new Toyota car; an all-new Toyota Hatchback. All job opportunities will be advertised over the next two years.
Toyota is looking to invest more than £100m into the Derbyshire plant and the Japanese-run company is determined to make it the only European plant that produces “C” class hatchbacks.
David Cameron visited the Toyota factory on Thursday and noted that "Toyota's commitment to the UK shows the growing strength of the UK car industry - it is our great British success story."
