Access to green technology is “severely hampered” in Wales said Dr Peter Wells of Cardiff Business School, as Wales has failed to invest in sufficient electric vehicle charging points.
Even though Wales aimed to provide more public charging points for all drivers of electric vehicles, the bid to do so has been somewhat unsuccessful. More charging points are vital, seeing as electric cars grind to a halt every 100 miles. There are currently 704 charging points in the UK at the moment, which will not cater for the 2 million electric vehicles expected to be on the road at the end of the decade.
It seems other UK locations “can support a genuine network of electric vehicles” said Dr Peter Wells, whereas Wales simply cannot.
