What number do I call if I need assistance?

In the event of a breakdown please call our emergency helpline, open 24 hours a day on 01423 535 795 or +44 1423 535 795 if you are calling from outside the UK.

For policyholders or drivers who are deaf or hard of hearing, we offer a text messaging service for claims. Please text us on +44 7441 448 667 to tell us you need help.

Your cover begins 24 hours after purchase or on the start date you have selected, whichever is later.

Your membership has a cooling off period of 14 days from the start date, or the receipt of your membership details, whichever is later. Providing you have not made a claim in this period we’ll refund your premium less the cancellation administration charge. If you wish to cancel your membership after the 14 day cooling off period we are unable to offer a refund.

Yes, we’ll happily provide a ‘Pay on use’ service for faults or incidents that you are not covered for. From £110, we’ll arrange for help to be sent to the scene of the incident.

Yes, you can upgrade or change your policy during the policy period, including at renewal. However, you cannot upgrade your policy to cover a claim for a breakdown that has already taken place.

Yes, your membership will automatically renew each year on the payment details you have provided, unless you have requested otherwise. We will always notify you of your pending renewal, confirming any changes to your premium and whether we will automatically renew your membership.

With a Rescuemycar.com membership, you are covered for an unlimited number of call outs.

Yes, providing your caravan or trailer is attached to your vehicle with a standard towing hitch, at the time of the incident and does not exceed 7 metres in length (including tow hitch), we’ll recover it to the same destination as your vehicle at no extra cost.

Please be aware that we do not cover breakdowns or faults to the caravan or trailer itself.

There are no age restrictions for our UK cover, but it is essential that vehicles are taxed and possess a valid MOT. This requirement applies to all vehicles, even those that may be considered exempt. For European cover, vehicles must be younger than 16 years at the time of policy purchase.

Yes - We will pay transportation costs for up to 10 miles driving distance. Unless the recovery operator cannot complete the service because the vehicle is not carrying a serviceable tyre inflation kit, the correct locking wheel nut key, nor has a spare wheel in safe working order (unless the vehicle is not designed to carry a spare wheel).
If the vehicle is fitted with ‘run-flat’ tyres, you must attempt to drive to the nearest garage which can complete repairs, if it is safe to do so.

Yes, we cover for running out of fuel, or charge if you have an electric vehicle. We will transportation costs for up to 10 miles’ driving distance.

Yes, if the incorrect fuel has been added to your vehicle, we will arrange for the draining and disposal of incorrect or contaminated fuel, plus provide up to 10 litres of the correct fuel. If this does not resolve the incident, we will recover your vehicle up to 10 miles. You will not be charged an excess fee for misfuelling if you have the option selected on your policy.

Yes - if your keys are locked in the vehicle a recovery operator would attend to try and retrieve them, if they were unable to retrieve them we will pay for transportation costs for up to 10 miles driving distance.

If you are looking for a more specific comprehensive cover for your keys, why not take advantage of our Key Cover? This can be added within the first 7 days of your policy and is only £19.99 (including IPT) for the full year. You can claim up to £1500 if your car, home or office keys are lost, stolen or accidentally damaged. Keys not attached to the key fob at the time of the loss won’t be insured. Keycare 5* is administered by Key Care Limited and underwritten by AA Underwriting Insurance Company Limited.
